As a psychotherapist, I aim to help people understand the trouble in their lives and make lasting changes. My style is both empathetic and collaborative. I believe it takes time to get to know the nuances of one's story. Sometimes people find themselves stuck, in emotional turmoil, and experiencing a range of psychological symptoms. Psychotherapy can involve helping people look at experiences or parts of themselves that feel unsettled or hard to see clearly. This process can be challenging, but often leads to symptom alleviation, smoother relationships, greater life satisfaction, and a deeper sense of meaning in one's life. Some people find short-term therapy is enough for ameliorating current troubles, while many engage in long-term intensive therapy to uncover the roots of their suffering, gain clarity, and regain momentum. I believe all people have the inherent capacity for growth, and those who engage in therapy, often find that old ways of feeling and being can change, and new doors can naturally open.
I have specialized training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which is a form of treatment that aims to fully resolve the underlying causes of one's distress. In addition to my private practice, I completed my post-graduate training at Mass General/Harvard Medical School, where I am a staff psychotherapist.
I can provide you with paperwork for reimbursement from your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network sessions.
