Patch Counseling
At Patch Counseling, we specialize in working with students and young adults who struggle with perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, and the pressure to constantly achieve. While these patterns often begin as strengths, they can eventually lead to stress, anxiety, self-doubt, and difficulty maintaining balance. We provide a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients can develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen self-compassion, establish boundaries, and build confidence in their own voice. Our approach combines evidence-based skills with mindfulness and practical tools to help clients manage stress, maintain motivation, and create a more sustainable path toward their goals.

Caela Day, Psy.D.
Welcome! I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Previously, I worked at San Diego State University, California State University Long Beach, Loyola Marymount University, and Metropolitan State University of Denver. I specialize in working with students to address anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I enjoy helping students develop greater self-understanding, explore aspects of their identity, and better relate in relationships.
Jessica Shaddock
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with transitional-age youth and adults adjusting to significant life transitions such as leaving home, attending college, building careers, beginning or ending relationships, parenthood, empty nest, and retirement. Much of my training has been in contemporary psychodynamic theory, relational theory and strength-based models. For over seven years, I worked in a Bay Area high school with high-risk youth, which gave me a deep understanding of how the experiences of adolescents impact our lives and shape our identity. I also have over 8 years of experience working with law students as they navigate law school, the bar exam, and the first few years of their careers. I use an integrated approach to best meet the needs of each individual client. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to make positive and lasting change.
Dr. Sheena Psychotherapy
I have had the privilege of working on school campuses and enjoy supporting students as they navigate family challenges, cultural identity, life transitions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and relationship concerns. Balancing academics, work, and personal life can often feel overwhelming. Therapy offers a space to slow down, organize your thoughts, and gain clarity about what matters most to you. My goal is to create a supportive and reflective environment where we can explore your experiences together and move toward the goals you have for your life. I believe that living authentically brings deeper meaning and purpose, and I would be honored to support you in discovering what that looks like for you.

Laurie Pantell
I love to work with students and young adults. Many of my clients face mood challenges (anxiety and/or depression), career questions, difficulties with relationships and/or the repercussions of early life trauma. Some are high achievers, but feel held back by self-esteem challenges or imposter syndrome. Others are in the process of individuating from their families of origin and benefit from guidance as they find their way in the world as adults. I have great empathy for the stresses of student life as well as a fundamental optimism in our ability to heal and become stronger and healthier with greater self-knowledge and support.

I look forward to learning how I can best support you in whatever you are going through right now.

Welcome to my Psychotherapy Practice. Currently, I am only seeing clients via video conferencing. Primarily, I work with people suffering from anxiety, addictive behaviors and couples in distress. When people seek counseling, they may report anxiety, depression and insecurity. One consistent theme is how often people make decisions that run counter to their desires and well being. Therapy can help us separate from, or gain perspective about, outdated attitudes and behaviors. One profound outcome is that we learn to accept our humanness. For many this has been inconceivable. Acceptance frees up energy to pursue interests. But self-acceptance has little to do with approval by others. Through these conversations, people often discover how current and past relationships influence mood, self-esteem and motivation. Psychotherapy helps us to recognize and detach from emotional reactions that interfere with growth. Psychotherapy, regardless of emphasis, includes an educational element. We learn to self-reflect (gain insight) in the presence of another person. Most of us need help in discovering why we do what we do. Self-reflection gives us a glimpse into our fears and desires. My style of work is active and exploratory. I tend to shy away from being directive though may suggest a focus during the session. I often employ humor or may share personal experience to bring home a point.

I work collaboratively with my clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, with this improved understanding we are able to identify and practice healthy and satisfying life strategies. Often my clients come with concerns about self-esteem, relationship challenges, family conflicts and adjustment issues related to college. Together, in a non-judgmental environment, we are able to sort through and make sense of issues that may seem particularly challenging.

Painful feeling such as anxiety or sadness and/or the disconnect from loved ones can feel overwhelming. It is difficult to find joy in life when we are struggling with one of these challenges. Therapy can be a place to consider new ways to work towards your goals, to find new sources of joy, and to reduce the experience of pain. I am a licensed clinical psychologist, specializing in the delivery of time-limited, evidence-based therapies to help you experience relief from feeling of anxiety and sadness and/or to increase closeness in your romantic relationship. In order to achieve your goals we will draw on cognitive-behavioral and emotionally-focused therapy strategies. I want you to know that there is reason to be hopeful, even when it is hard to find that hope on your own. Together we can identify a road map for working towards your goals, taking one step down the road at a time. While you have experienced trauma, pain, loss, hardship, or addiction, you are ready to take hold of your future. If you are looking to break free of a painful past that has you chained in your present, you have found the right place. Thrive clients are women who have struggled, felt alone, and are exhausted. They are people who want support in moving forward. I am genuine, honest, upfront and interactive, and emphasize the importance of our connection for your healing. What is an Authentic Life Path? The question should really be What is YOUR Authentic Life Path? Often in the hustle and bustle of the “real world” we kind of just go with the flow and often lose ourselves. Sometimes it is scary to live our lives authentically. Living authentically means the person you feel you truly are on the inside. I started my career in the IT field, but realized I did not have a passion for it or enjoy it. I wanted to help others. I became a licensed marriage and family therapist, and am now living my authentic life path and want to help you find and live yours. I specialize in working with children, tweens, teens and adults who identify as transgender or genderqueer. I also specialize in the LGBTQIAA+ community. I work with all religions and spiritualities and all types of families no matter what the unique makeup. I provide a safe, supportive environment for you to explore yourself and grow into your most authentic self and find the path that is right for you. Give me a call or email if you have any questions.

If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, hopeless, or always on edge, you’re not alone. You may experience worries that keep you up at night, or keep you from enjoying your life. Or you may feel like your life will never be the same again after experiencing something traumatic. You might also be feeling hesitant to ask for help because no one else in your life seems to feel the way you do, and can’t understand your struggle. I see you and understand your struggle. I will help you feel comfortable in sharing your worries, your concerns, your problems, your challenges. I use a gentle and personal approach to build a warm and trusting relationship, and ensure that your autonomy is preserved in treatment decisions. You can expect a collaborative relationship from day one. I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach in therapy, and rely on evidence based strategies to help you reach your goals. I will help you to strengthen your ability to cope with and manage challenges, teach you how to communicate with others, and help you to build confidence and self-esteem. Therapy won’t solve all your problems, but I can help you in building the skills you need to face those problems.
