I’m Jennifer and I’m excited you found my page. I love working with young adults to find their passion in life, remove blocks that are keeping them from being their true authentic selves, and learn to live a life they have always dreamed of. I practice therapy in Midtown, however, due to Covid, I currently am only offering therapy online. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified in Clinical Anxiety Treatment, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I have 18 years of diverse experience as a School Social Worker in K-12, an Academic Coach in Higher Ed, and as a Therapist in my own Private Practice. I absolutely love what I do. I’ve worked with young adults starting college or somewhere within their college career seeking to achieve academic success, but suffering from anxiety, overwhelm, and perfectionism. I totally understand, college was supposed to be the best time of your life….but it got really challenging. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed with the pressures of living on your own, academic pressures, loneliness, or just feel weighed down by the feelings of anxiety...come talk to me. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and build a healthy work-life-school-balance. I utilize a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, stress management, increasing self-worth, incorporation of meditation, mind/body connection, holistic healing, mood management, anxiety reduction, and self-empowerment. I believe in the power of the mind, body, and soul. I love being outdoors on mother earth and meditating daily. I am a vegetarian and love eating foods that nourish and heal my body from the inside out. Nobody ever said therapy was easy, however, I am a firm believer in “relationships”, so the connection with the right therapist is important. Call me!! Let's see if we are a great fit. You deserve to be happy and I would love to be a part of your journey!!

My name is Jenny Barwick, LPC and I have been in the therapy field for 10 years. I have two niches- perinatal mental health (meaning anything from infertility, to pregnancy loss, to postpartum mood disorders and everything in between) and older adults. From working with these populations for a decade, I am also very skilled in grief, loss, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. My practice is located conveniently off I-85 and Clairmont Rd in Atlanta. I use alot of cognitive behavioral therapy, existentialism, and person centered theories. You are the expert of your own life and I am here to help guide and support you. I take several types of insurance and can also offer a sliding scale. I look forward to working together!
Dr. Apraku is welcoming new patients for video appointments. As a Board-certified M.D. psychiatrist, she specializes in providing psychiatric diagnostic assessments and treatment recommendations for anxiety, depression, OCD and bipolar disorder. Dr. Apraku also gives guidance for mental health concerns related to life transitions, mood swings, anger and traumatic events. As a holistic provider, her focus is on medication management (including for patients wishing to decrease reliance on medication) in combination with extensive psycho-education and referral to a trusted therapist where appropriate. Effective psychiatry requires a relationship between patient and provider founded on trust and mutual understanding. Dr. Apraku's goal is to build such long-lasting relationships to get your mental health as good as it can be. She has a particular interest in treating young adults with non-traditional backgrounds, including racial minorities. Through secure video, Dr. Apraku can treat anyone located in state. The practice does not bill insurance carriers directly but instead provides a superbill which patients may use to claim out-of-network benefits. New patients are welcome to self-schedule their first appointment directly at apraku.com/book. We look forward to working with you!

I specialize in performance anxiety and high achievement challenges among musicians, graduate students, and creative professionals. Clients may look like they’re doing “fine” on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck internally. Many of my clients struggle with perfectionism, self-doubt, or fear of not measuring up even after success. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices such as ACT, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral strategies. I aim to create a space where you can think clearly, feel understood, and build tools that actually work in real life — whether that’s managing anxiety, rebuilding confidence, or navigating a major life transition. Therapy with me is practical, thoughtful, and growth-oriented. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit. Sometimes you just need space to reset, reflect, and move forward with clarity. Before I was a therapist I was a music professor, and I watched talented, driven students strive for excellence while quietly struggling with anxiety and self-doubt. Many were trying to meet not only external expectations, but the very high standards they set for themselves. Over time, I began to see a real need for therapists who truly understand the intense pressure of performance-driven environments. That realization led me to pursue clinical training. I understand what it feels like to care deeply about your work, your performance, and your future. I spent years in higher education and the performing arts, so I know firsthand the pressure that can come with auditions, exams, presentations, and high expectations. My path into therapy grew out of a desire to support people navigating those same pressures with greater clarity, steadiness, and confidence.
Seeking balance? I am a Licensed Master Social Worker who works with women, men, couples, and adolescents. You may struggle with situations and issues in your life including but not limited to coping with emotions, thinking poorly of yourself, a traumatic event or experiencing frustration in relationships. Therapy, to me, is a collaborative process in which one is able to reflect on thought processes, emotional states, roles in a system, and ineffective behaviors while in a safe and secure environment. I try to create a collaborative alliance with my clients that allows them to understand themselves better and find balance. I use a mindfulness-based approach: the practice of being present in the current moment non-judgmentally of self. I may ask you to challenge yourself, reflect on perspective, or develop alternatives, but I will not push, judge, or tell you what to do. The power to heal is within you. I work with a wide range of clients, however I thoroughly enjoy working with women struggling to find balance, managing stress, and striving to identify themselves or their purpose. I believe that we go through milestones or moments in our lives that we must navigate. Sometimes we do so successfully using the tools that have worked for us in the past. Sometimes we feel stuck and need to learn new ways of coping and problem solving to overcome obstacles. I appreciate being present with clients who allow me to join in the journey of discovery. I am honored by it.

Hi there! I understand the experiences you’ve had leading up to this decision may have been difficult, and you were able to navigate them the best way possible so far. Reaching out for the help you deserve speaks to your determination to be on a better path! Maya Angelou once wrote, “You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” This perspective is at the core of the therapeutic process, and central to the work I do with my clients. Together, we work to better understand the challenges faced in their unique, personal journeys, and in so doing, facilitate healing and growth. I am a licensed psychologist with extensive experience in addressing such concerns as depression, anxiety, early childhood and adult trauma exposure, PTSD, impaired self-worth, and relationship challenges. As a culturally-responsive psychologist, I focus on the critical role that individual identity (such as racial, ethnic, gender, or sexual identity) can play in overall well-being. I am a veteran of the United States Navy and completed a clinical psychology residency within the Division of Adult Mental Health at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I am a graduate of Morehouse College, completed master’s level training in clinical psychology and cross-cultural psychology at Columbia University and Cornell University, respectively, and completed my doctoral training in counseling psychology at Boston College.
