I am a clinical psychologist and sub-specialize in couples and family therapy. I help couples and individuals deal with a variety of issues that may be interfering with relationships such as depression, anxiety, infidelity, poor communication, constant fighting, lack of motivation, or feelings of disconnection. My goal as a therapist is to give my clients the tools to achieve the kind of control that lets them be in charge. This is the only true path to a happy and fulfilling relationship. I also help parents deal with children who may be unmotivated, anxious, depressed, or oppositional. I believe parents need to be strategic with troubled children. Sessions focus on empowering parents with tools to reduce parent-child power struggles, stop self-defeating behavior and improve self-esteem and motivation to succeed. Clients leave my office having a clear idea of what they need to do to improve their circumstances. I aim to achieve positive change in the briefest time possible. My clinical interests include anxiety, depression, social media and internet addictions, spiritual identity, relationship challenges, and life transitions. For $50,000-$60,000 the fee is $70. For $60,000 to $75,000 the fee is $80. For $75,000- $90,000 the fee is $90. For $90,000 to $100,000 the fee is $100. Using Internal Family Systems (IFS) level one training, I’ll offer a roadmap for navigating the complexities of your inner world as we understand how each part of you has a story to share and a path to healing. Most of my clients have experienced traumatic events that have impacted their functioning which can often present as emotional overwhelm, relational issues, low self-esteem, perfectionism, people-pleasing, shame, grief, thoughts of self-harm, suicidal ideation, dissociation, disordered eating, and/or addiction. My Background I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. During my studies, I completed a thesis on Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and Mental Health Counseling which shaped my approach to treatment emphasizing safety, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and trauma processing to foster clients’ wholeness and healing. Before grad school, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked in the nonprofit sector and corporate America. I am an art therapist, as well as a licensed professional counselor, and that means we have a lot of options in our tool box to find what works best for you. What is most important to me is making sure you feel heard, comfortable, and safe (and maybe even laugh once or twice)! I have been influenced by many counseling theories but gravitate most strongly to those emphasizing a collaborative relationship where the client is viewed as the expert on their own life. I also believe that our society differentially imparts barriers to certain groups and that often these obstacles, rather than personal failure, stand in the way of our goals. Most importantly, I believe that the therapy relationship is a potential vehicle for growth and my most fundamental goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment. I am trained as a generalist and most often work with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, family issues, grief, and trauma. I am particularly interested in working with oppressed groups, including women, ethnic minorities, and gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals. I use a variety of approaches in therapy.
