Therapists for college students near 02139
I have been in the field for over 25 years with significant experience in scientifically proven models (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Focused CBT). I specialize in treating a number of symptoms including anxiety, depression, stress, and adjustment to college/adulthood. I also specialize in working with athletes who experience mental health challenges unique to them. I am a member of the national group, Alliance of Social Workers In Sports, a specific group of clinicians helping high school, college, and pro athletes nationwide. I am licensed in the states of Massachusetts and Connecticut. All sessions via my secure, confidential TeleHealth platform. *As Managing Director of our group practice, Revidas in the state of Massachusetts, I can also assist in matching you with one of our over 30 clinicians. We have BIPOC staff who have significant experience*
Starting or returning to college can bring up unique challenges—navigating relationships, managing stress, adjusting to new independence, or figuring out who you are and what you want. I work best with students who are thoughtful, curious, and open to exploring their inner world, even if that feels a little intimidating at first. Many of my clients are balancing academics with the ups and downs of friendships, family, dating, and questions about their identity. My practice is LGBTQ-affirming and welcoming to students of all backgrounds. I provide a calm and supportive space where you can slow down, untangle what feels overwhelming, and begin to feel more grounded. Whether you’re seeking clarity in relationships, support with stress or anxiety, or a place to process deeper emotions, therapy can be a meaningful step toward feeling more connected and at ease with yourself. I look forward to supporting you!
My name is Ricardo and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My work focuses on supporting people navigating eating disorders, OCD, and the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. These struggles can feel isolating—but they don’t have to be. I offer a warm, affirming space where you don’t have to explain or justify who you are or what you’re going through. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and pain points in your life with care. I use approaches like CBT, Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), and motivational interviewing, always through a trauma-informed and person-centered lens. But just as important as the tools is the relationship—we’ll build something grounded in trust and mutual respect. I know how loud the inner critic can get, how overwhelming it feels to be stuck in loops of anxiety, shame, or self-doubt. You deserve relief, and you deserve to feel more at home in yourself. Therapy can be a space where you get to exhale and be fully seen. If anything here resonates, I invite you to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on this part of your journey.
My work in counseling psychology emerged from being an artist. While earning my BFA at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, I was invited into my colleagues’ lives and learned to share their experiences through their lenses and perceptions. Graduate training at NYU sharpened this insight to bring a unique perspective to the therapeutic process. I provide feedback and reflection—infused with a dose of humor—in a warm, safe, and trusting atmosphere. My approach is both interactive and direct. I ask my clients to challenge themselves to be completely open and honest and share in a way that might feel like they’re ‘telling on themselves.’ Significant change and healing can only really begin with the whole truth. Believing strongly that the integration between mind and body leads to greater mental health, I encourage clients to incorporate physical activity and other treatment modalities: yoga, art, working out, running, massage, pets, acupuncture, meditation, medication, vacation, etc.
Life is hard but we can stay strong with support! It takes courage to reach out to a therapist to help you with your life journey. Jenn believes everyone is unique and so there is no “cookie cutter” approach. Her person-centered style allows the client to establish goals and then together work as a “team” to attain growth. There is a wide array of adjustments in life such as leaving home, divorce, parenting, job unhappiness, marital strife, mid-life change, trauma, grief, and aging. Feeling a supportive presence through it all is key! An avid athlete (soccer player) growing up, and current runner and Peleton spin biker, Jenn believes in balance between physical and mental health. Jenn has worked at a private co-educational boarding school for over 30 years. As the Director of Counseling Jenn works with students and families from an array of different cultures and diverse backgrounds. In her private practice offering teleHealth and in person visits, Jenn looks to provide a safe and empathetic environment in which you can feel comfortable and be honest. Reach out to talk and decide for yourself if we are a fit!
You’re thoughtful, capable, and often the one others rely on—but inside, you may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. Many of my clients struggle with overgiving, difficulty setting boundaries, relationship stress, or burnout. I help you understand your patterns, strengthen your voice, and build healthier, more balanced relationships so you can feel grounded, respected, and more like yourself again. I specialize in helping high-functioning adults navigate anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges. Using a trauma-informed, integrative approach (CBT, DBT, EMDR), I support you in setting boundaries, regulating emotions, and creating healthier patterns in your life and relationships. Welcome, as it takes courage for us to ask for help from others and seek therapy. I am here to tell you that it is okay to ask for help and seeking a professional therapist is the first step in your journey. Life is hard at times, with a multitude of life transitions, from graduating from high school to finishing college, starting a new job, or having feelings of being stuck either personally and/or professionally. Life is not an easy road to travel, but as we travel through different life challenges, sometimes we need help from others and it’s okay to seek help. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who is very passionate about the mental health field and each client I have had the pleasure of working with. I am very respectful of everyone’s journey and believe respect, compassion, and sensitivity are very important in building and maintaining a healthy therapeutic relationship. I have experience with working with clients who have struggled with anxiety, depression, stress and major life transitions, PTSD, trauma, relationship issues, ADHD symptoms, mood disorders, parent-child relationship issues, behavioral problems, parenting techniques, and grief/loss. My therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, TF-CBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I utilize different therapeutic techniques to assist my clients, which ensures each client has a personalized treatment plan. When working with my clients, I like to build a strong therapeutic rapport to gather a clear understanding of the client’s needs, goals they want to work on and/or issues they want to address in therapy, barriers to progression in therapy, and objectives to reach their therapeutic goals. My philosophy in working with each client is that I am here to help you. I hope to work with you, helping you understand where you are in the process of change, motivating you to move towards the next stage, assisting you throughout the therapeutic process, and we move at your pace. The client’s progression in the therapeutic process is to understand and acknowledge that, to a large degree, a successful treatment outcome depends on the amount of energy and effort the client makes. I will always have an open and honest line of communication with clients and be empathetic and very respectful. I look forward to working with you!

Specialize in PTSD, especially Complex Trauma
I believe a therapist's job is to help people get "unstuck." All behavior serves a purpose. Even the most painful or confusing patterns often began as ways to cope with overwhelming circumstances. In therapy, we'll explore these parts of yourself and work to deepen self-awareness. Over time, you will come to recognize that while your emotional responses once made perfect sense, they may no longer serve you in the same way. Therapy is not about erasing or lingering in the past, but about making meaning from it. At the heart of my work is a belief in the healing power of feeling truly seen, heard, and understood. Together, we’ll turn inward with curiosity and compassion so you can move through the world with greater clarity, coherence, and connection.

I believe that each and every one of us is the expert of our own lives, but sometimes we feel overwhelmed and need guidance as we navigate life's challenges. This gets more challenging if you're an LGBTQ+ person in the south, but working with an affirming, competent therapist can make a big difference. I help transgender folx and other members of the LGBTQ+ community explore their identity, develop self-esteem, and improve their relationships. My approach to therapy is queer competent, gender affirming, sex positive, kink affirming, and poly affirming. I strive to create a safe space for my clients to explore their problems fully without fear of judgment. It is truly an honor and a privilege to be able to stand by my clients as they courageously make changes necessary to live fulfilling lives. In addition to individual therapy, I also offer comprehensive assessments and letters of support for transgender folx who are seeking gender-affirming surgeries.
