Therapists for college students near 02141
Hi, I’m Kari (she/they)! I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts and a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F). I provide body-centered and nature-based psychotherapy for folks who have experienced complex trauma, religious/spiritual harm, and/or chronic illness. Whatever your reason for seeking out therapy today, know that you are welcome here. Rather than telling you what to do or handing out advice, I believe that my job is to engage you in looking deep within yourself for the answers and healing you desire. Coming from a humanistic perspective, my practice is based on the belief that every human being has inherent dignity and worth. I truly trust that you are already whole and have everything you need within you to create change and live the life you are meant to live; you may just need some support in developing and connecting to your body’s inner wisdom, which is where I come in. I am here to provide a safe space for you to explore your inner landscape in order to help you meet your goals. Depending on your preferences and needs, I will use an eclectic mix of mindfulness, body-based, expressive, and narrative approaches, all from a trauma-informed perspective.

Lauren is excited to expand services to support college students and young adults navigating the transition into higher education and independent living. Whether adjusting to academic pressures, managing anxiety, building new routines, or finding a sense of balance during major life changes, Lauren provides a supportive and grounded space to help clients feel more confident and connected. She also works with individuals who identify as sober curious or who choose not to use alcohol while on campus. In a culture where social drinking can feel expected, Lauren helps clients develop boundaries, strengthen self-trust, and create meaningful connections that align with their personal values and wellness goals. At Peaceful Renewal Counseling, the focus remains on creating a calm, supportive environment where the hard work of growth leads toward greater peace and clarity.
I'm passionate about working with college students who are finding life to be overwhelming and exhausting. Maybe you're heartbroken over loss, burdened with guilt, feeling you'll never be good enough, are scared, or at wits' end. Or maybe something happened to you, and it sticks with you giving you no rest. When we feel this way, we tend to isolate, berate ourselves, and spiral in our thinking or distract ourselves from these debilitating feelings. You're not alone. These feelings and responses are common, and there are evidence-based treatments to help you make sense of your concerns, take good care of yourself, and take your next steps. My main approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) while also building a warm, therapeutic relationship. I'm also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. That said, therapy is collaborative. You are the expert on yourself, and I will work with you to find the approach that best suits you. My goal is to help you not only feel better but to grow in ways that make a healthier life both possible and sustainable. Many people feel hesitant about starting therapy. Growth can be a challenging road—I hope to meet you on that road, and help with your journey.
The road to self discovery is scary, and you are taking the first steps in seeking out the right therapist for you. It’s an important investment and you want to make sure you find just the right connection. My approach is deeply personal. Working with each person to learn and identify how they are impacted by the stories of their life and their history. In doing so, we are able to bring out what is truly possible. I believe strongly in the power of our stories. From a very young age, we all start learning things about ourselves and our world. These “life lessons” start to turn into the stories we repeat to ourselves over and over again. They become who we are. Those stories are not always nice and they hold us back. But most importantly, they are often not true! They are the stories we created when we were young and we have retold them to ourselves over and over again in a weird game of telephone with one player.

Radical acceptance and authentic human connection. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Trying to keep your head above water? Do you need a space where you can be seen, heard, and valued? I can help. I provide warm, engaging therapy without judgment, shame, or stigma. I work with folx ages 16+ who are looking for new ways to move through life. I tend to work with people who are going through a transition. Perhaps you are going off to college, trying to understand an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, navigating complicated relationships, or exploring your identity. (I provide gender-affirming treatment letters.) WARNING: I'm not the kind of therapist who nods & asks: "How does that make you feel?" I work in an interpersonal, solution-focused, collaborative language format. Meaning? I'm super interactive, and we're gonna work together to manage your drama & trauma. I use radical acceptance and authentic human connection to help you on your path toward healing, growing, and thriving. I've been a therapist for over a decade. I use strength-based, affirmative, and neuroscientific theories to guide us, but healing doesn't happen via theory. It lies within you- your hopes, hardships, successes, and infinite wisdom. My mission is to help you feel deeply understood and connected as you gain awareness of how your thoughts, emotions, and body are interconnected. Take a break from your hectic day and find a relaxing space where you can virtually come to learn to maximize your strengths, minimize your fears, and increase your confidence. As an expressive therapist, I’ve been trained to find additional approaches towards healing, which may include the arts. My style is relational, collaborative, and informed. Recovery and healing are possible. We all have struggles we've faced in this life. You are the expert of your life and your experience. Racism, homophobia, and sexism are hardcore capital-T Traumas. Even the strongest among us need support in helping our inner critic shut up and get out of our way. You are amazing, and I want to help you see that (especially if you just got through this whole thing and are still reading).

Whether you’re looking to address a recent life transition or hoping to address more chronic mental health concerns, I understand that beginning with a new therapist is a vulnerable, and often challenging, step to take. While I have an eclectic approach to therapy in order to meet the unique needs of each individual client, my approach is always warm, collaborative, laid-back, and client driven. I also have considerable experience working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Regardless of the unique circumstances that led you to seek therapy, I strive to help you feel seen, heard, and valued. I hope you’ll reach out so we can explore how I can help!

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, elderly, couples and families. I utilize multiple treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I believe that therapy looks different for each person and I strive to provide a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic setting based on compassion, trust, and honesty where we can work together to utilize your own individual strengths to reach your goals and to be able to better manage the stressors in your life.

We use an individualized approach based on a range of treatment modalities along with valuable skill building. Hello, and welcome! I specialize in working with individuals, complex relationship issues (sexual dysfunction, intimacy, infidelity), and the impacts of Narcissistic Personality Disorder on relationships. I work closely with individuals struggling with different forms of mental disorders and help my clients forge a new path forward toward healing and wholeness. My passion is in therapy, and I am humbled and grateful when people invite me to play a meaningful role in their lives. I view relationships as the source of people's greatest joys and pains. I want all clients to have the experience of being treated with honesty, respect, and care. Trust in the therapeutic alliance is of the upmost importance to me, and I will always do my best to establish a setting you feel comfortable sharing your most vulnerable moments. Through passionate discussion, we can begin by making the first steps toward positive change and chart a new path of hope for your life. I believe that therapy should be emotional, creative, lively, and intense, and I promise to bring my full heart to the relationship we build.
I am passionate about working with college students 18 and older that are struggling with painful life experiences that affect their mental and physical health. I provide a safe, accepting environment, using evidence-based modalities for change, and support my clients in the process of healing and becoming the best versions of themselves. My clients are resilient- however, having to be "strong" and in survival mode all the time is exhausting, and it's okay to let your guard down with me. I aim to support my clients in not only surviving, but thriving. My clients achieve a healthier relationship with themselves, others, and the world around them.
Colorful Resilience is a Queer-Afro-Latina-owned outpatient mental health services office in West Springfield, Massachusetts. We proudly provide therapy – primarily, but not exclusively – to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, First Generation, and immigrant folks. For clients in the Western MA area, we offer in-person consultations and virtually for those all across Massachusetts. Due to a lack of clinical representation and cultural competency in the mental health field, the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, First Generation, and immigrant communities have historically been underserved. Colorful Resilience hopes to remedy such disparity by ensuring all our team members are representatives of the communities we serve, fearless allies, or both. Not only utilizing education but also lived experiences to provide the most relevant behavioral health services.
Whether you are currently in crisis and/or have been wanting to unravel and alter unhelpful and possibly destructive patterns, I welcome your contact. I work with individuals and couples and have expertise in a wide-range of areas. These areas include, but are not limited to relationship conflicts, mood disorders, trauma, family of origin conflicts, medical conditions, LGBTQ+ related struggles, addiction and issues related to social justice. When appropriate, I encourage adjuncts to psychotherapy such as movement, creativity, pursuit of passion and related self-care. It can be a very courageous action to seek mental health treatment. We will go at a pace that is the right mix of comfortable and challenging. I have complete respect for who you are and what you are bringing to me now. The connection that develops between me and the people I work with is central to the healing and growth that takes place. I welcome your contact to explore whether we might be a good fit and/or to schedule an initial session.
Bridging the Gap Between the life you are living and the life you want to live. As a licensed therapist and neurodivergent learning specialist with 26 years of educational experience, I specialize in helping students navigate the complex emotional toll of academic anxiety, ADHD, and learning differences. On the surface you're all calm and put together, but underneath you're questioning how your life is panning out. Sure, you've got great ambition and have come really far. Things may even be pretty good right now. But the memories of your difficult past and anxieties about the future never quite go away. Feeling not good enough, doubting your abilities, and feeling stuck have become an everyday experience that you'd rather do without. I use an attachment, nervous system, and trauma informed lens to help you understand how experiences have shaped you so far and find more space for kindness and courage within for growth and evolution. Imagine going about your day feeling compassionate towards yourself, confident in handling whatever life throws at you, and courageous in taking new actions towards your goals. I fully believe that living with more ease, self esteem, and satisfaction is available to you and will be the natural result of you paying more attention to your inner experiences. Certified in both IFS and EMDR, I help clients that experience anxiety, depression, trauma including PTSD and C-PTSD, and relationship issues find new ways of relating to themselves and others. I conveniently see clients online via teletherapy. Head over to my website (www.WellofWisdomTherapy.com) to schedule your free 15 minute phone consultation today.
I currently have a waitlist for February 2027 and am offering waitlist consult calls. You're studying nursing because you want to make a difference in the world. But it doesn't feel like you thought it would. You are faced with challenges in clinical that were never talked about in the classroom. By the end of the day, you're numb and exhausted. You spend your nights looking up how to transfer to a different major. You are spending your weekends watching the same show on repeat and wondering if this is really the college experience everyone talks about. Therapy designed specifically for nursing students focuses on creating a restorative space where you can finally slow down and process the emotions you push aside to make it through the day. We will talk about how to maintain self-care and balance while you study one of the hardest majors and learn the coping tools and boundaries needed to support ongoing success in your profession. Visit my website www.partnersinchangetherapy.com to learn more about how we can work together.
