Hello! I work with people from all different backgrounds and identities that are struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, traumatic experiences and more. It might show up as perfectionism, constant worrying, people pleasing, unhealthy relationships, being hard on yourself, difficulty setting boundaries, struggling with body image, conflicts with friends or family, a lack of confidence, motivation or just feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts and feelings. Whatever it is that you are noticing, I take the time to really get to know you and your inner world and from there, provide the support needed to build a path forward that feels right for YOU. Hi! My name is Elisha and I'm the clinician and owner of E and Bee Somatic Therapy. My ideal client is someone who has experienced trauma, be it one event or layers of trauma occurring since childhood. They have been able to live a meaningful life to the best of their ability, but they might feel held back by feelings of control, hypervigilance, detachment, etc. stemming from the traumatic event(s). Trauma often shows up in our mood, relationships, and physical health so there may be multiple areas that are unsatisfying. My ideal client is ready to work hard to address this!

When therapy is conducted in a safe and warm environment, and a client or couple or family feels heard and understood without judgment, it can be an incredibly powerful tool in providing healing and growth for life's difficult past experiences and current challenges. As a strengths-based and client-centered team of therapists, we work with a client's existing internal strengths to partner with them to create goals that build towards healing, growth, awareness, and positive change. Our clinical experience and specialization has included Couples Therapy, CBT, EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals and couples, Trauma informed therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Family Systems Theory, and Attachment Theory. We work with couples, adults, adolescents, and families. Starting therapy can be overwhelming and anxiety producing. Our goal is to immediately build a safe place and therapeutic connection with you, and remove some of the anxiety that can often be part of reaching out and pursuing counseling.

Do you often feel misunderstood and hurt? Do you feel as though your emotions are controlling you and you don’t know what to do to change that? Does it leave you feeling anxious and depressed? I know what that feels like and I can help with that. My Approach to Helping I believe that people are doing the best they can with the information and skills they currently have. I also believe that they can grow and create better lives for themselves with the appropriate support. My approach to helping clients develop the skills to effectively identify, regulate and communicate their emotions, needs and boundaries to others is validating and skills-based. Therapy with me is relational, non-judgmental, body positive, sex positive and LGBTQ+ and poly competent. My Personal Beliefs and Interests I'm a psychologist and certified alcohol and drug counselor. I have a background in research (on behavior change) and loved working in academia for a long time, before transitioning to working in community mental health for a few years. I love being a therapist. I am also a mother and an immigrant with strong progressive values and I bring that to the table as well. I believe that Black Lives Matter and that community action is more powerful than waiting for government to act in our best interest. I bring this perspective to my work.

I collaborate with people to help them live a more authentic, connected life. I approach counseling with a deep empathy and belief in the power of your strengths and encourage insight, empowerment and self-compassion. I rely on the creation of a strong therapeutic relationship and targeted interventions to do so. I work with individuals and families looking to heal their relationship to food and their body; those with eating disorders; people struggling with anxiety and depression, those coping with grief and loss, those who are navigating identity challenges and people healing from personal, systemic and interpersonal trauma. My counseling style is sincere, collaborative, validating and often filled with nerdy metaphors, a good laugh and pet stories.

Hello there! I believe everyone has the ability to live a balanced and fulfilling life and, inevitably, changes can throw us off balance. I look forward to working collaboratively with you to set therapy goals to improve relationships, make difficult decisions, make emotional adjustments, and feel more confident. I enjoy helping adults embrace who they are to gain clarity, improve relationships, cope with stress, and regain a sense of well-being. I place a high value on a therapeutic, non-judgmental relationship centered around deep listening. Although growth in therapy can be hard work, the process should also be inspirational and enjoyable. We are living in a world full of change. A therapeutic process that integrates the mind, emotions, spirit, and body is relevant. I will help you rediscover your unique life vision and capitalize on your strengths in order to find your way to wellness and wholeness.

As a Person of Color, you’ve followed the rules, honored your culture, and shape-shifted to survive—but the pressure to get it all right is exhausting. You’ve kept it together for everyone else—but inside, you’re overwhelmed, second-guessing yourself, and craving peace. Family stuff is complicated, parenting feels heavy, and rest feels out of reach. You don’t have to hold it all. Let’s make space for you. Terapia en Español & Bilingual Services – I offer a space where all parts of your identity are honored. Together, we’ll build tools to manage stress, emotions, and relationships, while also exploring how past experiences and cultural messages shaped your feelings, response and the way you see yourself. This work supports deeper healing, clarity, and growth. My style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. We’ll explore your goals and what brings you to therapy. As someone who's lived between cultures, I value feeling truly seen and respected. Safety makes deeper exploration possible—and with it, meaningful, lasting change. This time of life can be overwhelming, so full of change and new that sometimes it feels like too much. It can be confusing trying to figure out who you are, what you believe, how to be in relationships with others and even with yourself! Developing autonomy is exciting and it can also be scary to have to “adult” so much. You are taking responsibility for yourself, but probably still feel like you are ‘not quite’ an adult. I love to help people navigate this in-between time.

If you're looking for an experienced therapist who is warm, uses humor, actually trauma informed, and has lived experience as a neurodiverse person I might be the right fit for you! I do both therapy and ADHD assessments. While I specialize in neurodiversity, trauma, and dissociative disorders I can work with many different issues like anxiety, depression, stress, identity, and chronic health issues. I also have extensive experience working with people with complex trauma and dissociative disorders like DID and OSDD. I also work well cisgender and gender diverse folks and identify as genderfluid myself. One of my parents is an immigrant and I enjoy working cross culturally and with other first generation Americans. I do personal antiracism work and do my best to be aware of my own biases. I also know that I make mistakes. I can't promise perfection, I do promise healthy repair in the relationship when I've hurt someone. As a therapist I generally take an integrated approach drawing from DBT, psychodynamic, mindfulness based therapies, ADHD skills training, parts work, clinical hypnosis and three stage trauma therapy. I am a practicing Buddhist and am comfortable working with people across different faiths or none. I don't take a one size fits all approach to therapy. What therapy with me looks like will depend on you and what you need!

Congratulations on taking steps to getting support! Therapy is a way to not feel so alone with our pain, change our thoughts and behaviors so they are more adaptive, and allow us to live in a more expansive way. I see you as the expert on you, and my role as an expert in healing, together we collaborate to get you where you want to be in life. Brain science, attachment theory (childhood relationship with our caregivers), and the context of our culture (as it intersects with our identities) are the lenses I use to strengthen your awareness, feel feelings, and heal. Laughter and peace are a necessary part of healing too! I am trained in art therapy, attachment-focused EMDR, Brainspotting, and "parts work," or Internal Family Systems, to work with the limbic area (where trauma is stored) of the brain in order to heal both "big T" and "little t" trauma. Studies have shown that in order to heal trauma and change thoughts/feelings/behavior body and brain based therapies are necessary.
