Therapists for college students near 78705
Hello! I’m a therapist in private practice, and I work best with students and young adults who feel like they’re carrying a lot on the inside while trying to keep up on the outside. Many of the clients who are a great fit for my practice are navigating anxiety, low mood, self-esteem struggles, emotional dysregulation, grief and loss, the impact of past painful experiences, and major life transitions (starting college, changing majors, moving away from home, new relationships). If you feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like you “should be doing better” but can’t seem to turn it around, you’re not alone. Students often reach out when they’re: • Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or constantly “on edge.” • Stuck in overthinking, perfectionism, or procrastination • Feeling down, numb, unmotivated, or like it’s hard to care about things you used to enjoy • Burned out from juggling school, work, family, or big life changes • Struggling with confidence, self-worth, or a harsh inner critic • Having trouble with relationships, boundaries, or communication • Trying to heal after a painful experience, or coping with grief and loss In our sessions, we’ll slow things down and make sense of what you’re feeling, what’s been happening, and what you want to change. My approach is flexible based on your needs, but I often use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), which helps you notice unhelpful thought patterns, understand how they affect your feelings and choices, and practice new ways of coping that fit your life. We’ll set clear goals, build practical skills you can use between sessions, and we’ll move at a pace that feels safe, especially if you’re working through trauma or loss. My style is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. You don’t need to know what to say or have a “perfect” reason to start therapy. If you’re looking for a space that feels supportive and real, where you can be honest, get tools that help, and feel more like yourself, I’d be glad to connect. We can start with what’s most urgent and go at a pace that feels manageable.

I’ve been in the Mental Health field for over 10 years. I have worked in a variety of settings, allowing for a unique perspective towards improving mental health for each individual. I strive to meet you where you are in your journey, using a variety of therapeutic approaches to support your unique needs. I am certified as a substance use therapist, certified trauma professional, trained in multiple modalities of therapy- ERP, PE, DBT, HRT, BA, CBT for Hoarding, ACT, and Mindfulness to name the most commonly used therapies for me. I believe in helping you discover your inner resilience through strength-based practices. I also work to increase awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors using mindfulness-based interventions and cognitive behavioral strategies. I honor each individual's autonomy, dignity, and worth, and bring compassion, understanding, and empathy into every session. I have experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, substance use, low self-esteem, trauma of all types, parenting challenges, and life transitions. I also strive to create a space of inclusivity and safety. I recognize that life experiences shape us—but they don’t have to define our future. I'm here to support your journey of healing and self-discovery with respect, care, and authenticity.

If you're reading this, you're likely thinking about starting therapy (maybe even for the first time) and have questions about what lies ahead. Hi! I'm Brittney, a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Reflection and Grace Counseling, offering telehealth therapy to students throughout Texas. College is new territory to navigate for anyone. You're managing your own schedule, navigating new relationships, and maybe questioning everything you thought you knew about yourself — all while submitting your assignments by 11:59pm before it's late. If you've noticed a little more anxiety creeping in, more self-doubt than you expected, or a general sense that everyone else has it "all figured out"...that's actually really normal. And also a great time to talk to someone. I work with adults who are tired of shrinking themselves to keep the peace and ready to build a relationship with themselves that actually feels real. My approach is warm, grounded, and judgment-free. You don't have to perform okayness here. This chapter is a big one. Let's make sure you're not navigating it alone.
Are life's challenges weighing you down? Do you find it difficult to balance a healthy lifestyle? Unexpected situations and roadblocks can often bring up feelings of uncertainty and stress. This in turn can affect how you think, feel, and act. Therapy can provide valuable support in understanding and managing these effects to promote personal growth and resilience. My goal is to create a safe environment while you explore your feelings, navigate through life challenges, develop effective coping strategies and adapt to new life circumstances.

We believe what makes you different makes you wonderful, not wrong. Too many people spend their first therapy sessions teaching a well-meaning counselor the vocabulary of their own lives before they can even talk about what's actually going on. We started Love Let Out because everyone deserves a therapist who already speaks their language, and because we're committed to dismantling the systemic barriers that keep marginalized communities from getting care that actually fits them. We do this by building our practice around lived understanding, not just clinical training. Our clinicians come from the communities we serve, your life isn't theoretical to us. That means our approach is collaborative and culturally responsive from the first session: we're not assessing whether your relationship structure or identity is "the problem," we're helping you build a life and relationships that actually work for who you are. In practice, that looks like a team of licensed clinicians offering telehealth therapy across Texas, Oregon, and Washington, specializing in open/non-monogamous relationships and kink-affirming care, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, neurodivergence (ADHD/autism), and trauma and religious trauma recovery. We work with individuals, couples, and small groups/polycules, ages 15 and up.
My path started by working in alternative high schools, and then as a career counselor in management and business development roles for a few universities and military populations. I have over 18 years of experience working in education, career development, and mental health. My experience growing up in Flint, Michigan, and being the first in my family to attend college, shaped how I view and overcome challenges. I specialize in support for working professionals, especially teachers, nurses, and students with anxiety or depression who are struggling in their careers, education, or relationships. Many feel stuck, burnt out, angry, and overwhelmed. Chronic stress makes it hard for them to connect with their instructors, bosses, and peers. Time management is an issue and constantly trying to keep up. Some may prefer to be alone, even though it leads to ruminating over traumatic work experiences and substance use. My clients have demanding jobs and/or class schedules, and are highly trained and accustomed to solving problems. However, no one is immune to the long-term effects of stress and trauma. I have over 18 years working in counseling, higher education, and career development. My communication style is warm, yet solution-focused, often encouraging you to think from the end, build your resilience, and focus on the future. Some clients get what they need to make a positive change in 6-8 sessions. Others enjoy my long-term support to address trauma. First time trying talk therapy? Congrats on taking the first step. I value confidentiality and understand the college campus and workplace cultures. You do not have to go through this alone. Let's get you out of survival mode and start to thrive. Reach out to schedule your complimentary 15-minute consultation today. I look forward to talking with you.

Hi, I’m Regina (she/her), a queer, neurodivergent therapist who believes healing happens in spaces where you’re truly seen and affirmed. I bring compassion, curiosity, and a healthy dose of irreverence into the therapy room, and I deeply value the trust it takes to show up authentically—especially when the world hasn’t always made space for who you are. I primarily work with women and nonbinary adults—especially those who are late-diagnosed neurodivergent, part of the LGBTQ+ community, or navigating non-traditional relationships (like ENM or kink). If you're untangling trauma, questioning your place in a society that often feels hostile or broken, or working to rebuild self-worth in a neurotypical, cis-hetero world—you’re in the right place. My approach is eclectic and collaborative. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to meet your unique needs, rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all mold. This work isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about reconnecting with your values, making meaning, and feeling more at home in your own mind and body. If you’re looking for a therapist who affirms your identity, respects your complexity, and understands what it means to feel like an outsider—I’d be honored to walk with you. Schedule a free consultation so we can chat about whether I’d be a good fit.
