I believe that healing occurs through relationships, and I would be honored to be a part of your journey. Health is something we can never stop growing in. In order to reach optimal health, and we must nurture our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Everyone is special and unique, and your counseling sessions will reflect that. They will be tailored specifically for you. Specific evidence-based techniques and interventions I may use are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) mindfulness, motivational interviewing, expressive techniques, and interactive therapies. Together we will establish goals, and I will equip you with tools and resources to use not only in our sessions, but most importantly, into your daily life, no matter the circumstance. I will be right there with you as you learn more about yourself and the world you are a part of. I believe that health is something we can never stop growing in. In order to reach optimal health, and we must nurture our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Everyone is special and unique, and your counseling sessions will reflect that. They will be tailored specifically for you. Specific interventions I may use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, expressive techniques, and interactive interventions. I want to equip you with tools and resources to bring from our sessions together into your daily life. I primarily work with individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, abuse, stress management, body image issues, shame, self-esteem, and life adjustment transitions.

Life can be hard. Extremely hard. Sometimes you can’t see your way out. It’s normal. When those hard moments in life come, I’m here to see you through to the other side of your pain. That’s the goal. The other side. I am the owner and lead therapist at Empowered Perspective. I am licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and received my master’s degree in Human Relations (the study of psychology, sociology, and anthropology) from the University of Oklahoma. The program provided a solid foundation in my journey to counseling. Before arriving here, I worked in Corporate America for over 12 years guiding individuals through their careers as a Global Talent Director. Although I was “successful” by many people's definition, I wasn’t fulfilled. That is when I decided to answer my “calling” and enter into the counseling profession. I am honored that God chose me to do this work. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families and couples suffering from a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and grief. As your counselor, you will get someone who is authentic, straightforward, down-to-earth, and open-minded. My job is not to judge you or your actions. My job is to listen to you, encourage you, walk beside you, and yes, sometimes challenge your perspective. I work primarily from the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Spiritual/Transpersonal Therapy treatment modalities. In simple terms, CBT focuses on how thoughts influence our emotions and behavior. Spiritual Therapy focuses on the body, mind and health of a person’s spirit. It puts an emphasis on a person’s spiritual path or enlightenment during life. There is more to life than existing and living through the pain; more than being a mother, spouse, friend, employee, daughter, or son. Getting through the challenges and roadblocks can sometimes feel insurmountable and confusing. My goal is to help you see the beauty of life, find meaning, and sustainable joy. When you are ready, I am here to help.

Dr. Emily Rademan
Psychologist
Colorado Springs, CO

Dr. Rademan starts treatment with a thorough and detailed inventory of life experiences that could be contributing to current concerns. She also explores body pain and chronic health concerns as those can be impacted by trauma and emotional wounding. Just like with physical health, mental health can be impacted by earlier 'injuries' that flare up later in life. Many people have been in and out of therapy throughout their life and haven't found sustained relief due to not healing the root issue or concern. At the foundation of treatment, Dr. Rademan utilizes a trauma and cognitive focused framework. Trauma is not only major violence or death, but can also be a loss of a relationship, not getting your needs met when you were a child, or ongoing major stressors. Trauma can be described as anything that significantly changed the way you view yourself or the world.

Relationships are the most rewarding and often the most difficult parts of our lives. If you're struggling in your romantic relationship, friendships, family or even in your relationship with yourself...you're not alone. Negative thoughts and feelings can keep you from the life you want with the people you love. Counseling can give you the support and encouragement you need to help move forward and find new, better ways to communicate and connect. It can be difficult to know who to trust with the things you're going through. Therapy offers you a confidential, comfortable place to talk about the things in your life that are hard to share with others. Together, we can uncover your strengths and use them to create a plan to give you relief from the uncomfortable place you're in today.
