Therapists for college students near 78741
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker who practiced in a college counseling setting for over 4 years and I have 15 years of counseling experience total. I continue to work with college students in my private practice and I enjoy working with people to better manage anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, grief, life transitions, relationship, concerns, and general stress. My practice is body positive and LGBTQ+, immigrant, and international student supportive and affirming. I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for processing fears, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I use various types of therapy, including ACT, CBT, DBT skills, somatic therapy, schema therapy, ERPT, narrative therapy, and person centered therapy, but I tailor sessions to what works best for you. I also welcome your feedback in the process. I strongly encourage coming to therapy in the way that you are most comfortable - meaning, swear if you feel the need, don't apologize for eating in sessions if you are hungry, show up in your pajamas - whatever. As long as you are safe and comfortable and you are able to talk privately, I support it. I offer a free 15 minute consultation call to see if we are a good fit, because having a therapist you trust and match with is paramount. I offer virtual telehealth sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I offer in person sessions in Kingwood, Texas on Wednesdays. Please feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to connect and I wish you the best in your therapist search!
Many of the clients I work with are navigating big transitions, starting college, living away from home for the first time, or trying to figure out what comes after college. Some feel overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or self-doubt. Others are dealing with relationship changes, family dynamics, burnout, or just feeling stuck. If you're someone who feels like you're supposed to have it all figured out, but secretly don’t, I get it. We will work together to sort through the noise, understand what’s getting in your way, and build tools that help you feel more steady and in control. My approach is down-to-earth, supportive, and built around what matters to you. You don’t have to have a diagnosis or a big crisis to start therapy. If something’s weighing on you, let's talk about it and strategize your success.
Every person will encounter difficult obstacles in life, but your past or current struggles do not have to define your future. I have devoted my life to empowering people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, post-traumatic stress, ADHD, and other issues, helping them find long-term solutions. I provide therapy in a non-judgmental, supportive space with the goal that you will recognize your value and capacity for wholeness regardless of what holds you back today. As a former firefighter/paramedic, I have cared for many people in crises. Now, I am passionate about guiding those in crisis toward lasting mental health. I engage in therapeutic strategies including solution-focused CBT, neurofeedback, accelerated resolution therapy (ART), Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and mindfulness. I look forward to encouraging and assisting you in overcoming any obstacles hindering your mental wellness. Together, we can strive for long-lasting resolution, exploring proven methods to fit your unique experience. Also, to those in the LGBTQIA+ community, you are welcome here. Queer clients have found me to be a safe space for our work together.
Let’s be honest—being a college student or young adult can feel like a lot. You’re expected to make big life decisions, manage responsibilities, and somehow have a plan for your future… all at the same time. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what you’re doing. You might be comparing yourself to others, questioning your path, or just trying to keep up day-to-day. The truth is, most people are figuring it out as they go—even if it doesn’t look like it. I work with young adults to create a space where you can be real. You don’t have to have everything together or know all the answers. Whether you’re dealing with stress, life transitions, or just feeling off, this is a place where you can talk things through without judgment. Together, we can make sense of what you’re going through, find ways to cope, and help you feel a little more grounded and confident moving forward. You don’t have to do this alone.
My practice is characterized by a practical, solution-focused approach; rather than simply identifying obstacles, we collaborate to develop actionable strategies for overcoming them. I provide a secure, supportive environment where Christian values are integrated into the therapeutic process as we work toward your lasting peace and restoration.
College can be exciting, but let’s be honest, it can also feel overwhelming. Between classes, friendships, family expectations, and figuring out who you are, it’s a lot to juggle. I work with college students who want a safe space to talk it out, manage stress, and feel more grounded. My style is supportive and down-to-earth, we’ll focus on what matters most to you and find practical ways to help you feel more balanced and confident.

I offer video sessions for residents of Texas and in person sessions in my Houston, Texas office. I love helping people who struggle with setting boundaries, fearing disappointing others, and navigating their own authentic path in life. I particularly enjoy working with people who have experienced religious trauma from a high control or highly conservative religion, who are choosing not to have children, or who are questioning diet culture and working to accept their bodies as they are. I believe therapy is a space for growth and change that can lead to stronger relationships, healthier ways of functioning, and a deeper sense of well-being. In our work together, I’ll bring empathy, respect, and genuine care. My role is to support you in becoming more self-aware and confident, while helping you make the changes you want to see in your life. To me, therapy is a collaborative process. I’m not here to "fix" you, but to walk alongside you as a guide, a support, and sometimes just a steady presence while you navigate life’s challenges. I truly believe that everyone has the ability to grow and the responsibility to pursue that growth when they’re ready. I also believe our relationships with family, partners, friends, or chosen community play a huge role in our overall well-being. When those connections feel off or strained, it can affect so many other areas of life. Whether we're working one-on-one, with a couple, or with a family, I take a systemic approach to understand the bigger picture and help shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck. And I know that therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to find what feels right for you. Most importantly, I’ll offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard.
