Therapists for college students near Austin, TX
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Megan. I am a therapist-in-training at SolHealth and am excited to begin working together! I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about what you can expect as we begin sessions together. I am a first-year master’s degree student in the Mental Health Counseling program at City College of New York. I received an interdisciplinary degree in Science, Technology, and Society where I focused on Psychology, Sociology, and Cultural Studies at Farmingdale State College. I have previously interned in schools where I worked with populations experiencing anxiety and difficulties with life transitions. I also worked as an ABA therapist where I specialized in working with clients with developmental disabilities. My primary modalities of therapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy. My therapeutic approach incorporates: mindfulness exercises to help with stress management, reducing stress and anxiety, overcoming depression, developing self-compassion, and creating a meaningful life for yourself. I believe in exploring an individual’s past and present while empowering them in a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space. Megan Pinzel is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists-in-training accruing clinical hours. College is the ultimate life experience, but it can also cause a lot of anxiety, doubt, confusion, and feelings of inadequacy. It also brings along questions of “am I good enough,” “did I choose the right path,” and “how am I going to get through this”? Guess what? These are all normal feelings and thoughts that every college student experiences to some degree or another, and I am here to help you navigate them! However, what happens if tragedy strikes, or you find yourself struggling with disabling anxiety, or chronic pain and/or illness? That was the predicament I found myself in during Graduate School. I received a Traumatic Brain Injury along with a Spinal Injury halfway through my MSW. I thought it was all over for me, I thought I was going to fail out of school, and was told I could never work in the field of social work. Well, I’m here to tell you they were WRONG! I made it through all the trials and tribulations, graduated with Honors, and I am here to help you navigate your struggles and help you continue to pursue your dreams! If you are struggling with daily college life, are experiencing debilitating mental health issues, or are trying to power through chronic pain and/or illness to acquire your college degree and make your dreams come true I am here to help you on your journey!

At Therapy-Tree, I specialize in helping people navigate the messy & complicated parts of life—and for college students, that often means balancing independence, relationships, academics, and figuring out who you are meant to be. Many of the students I work with share a common thread: they feel the weight of expectations. Sometimes it shows up as perfectionism, people-pleasing, anxiety about the future, or being hard on themselves when things don’t go perfectly. Others are feeling stuck and frozen, untangling relationship patterns, healing from past hurts, or learning how to trust themselves and set boundaries. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I meet you where you are and follow your lead—you’ll get tools, honest conversations, and a safe space where all parts of your story are welcome. Whether we’re exploring stress, identity, relationships, or healing from trauma, my focus is on helping you feel grounded, supported, and more connected to yourself. If you’re a student who wants to be more emotionally regulated, feel more confident, and grow in ways that matter to you, Therapy-Tree might be a good fit.
