Hello! Since obtaining my Masters in Social Work from IUPUI, I have been an individual, family and school-based therapist working with clients of all ages ranging from 3-years-old and up. I have worked with behavioral problems, school-based struggles, addictions, trauma and abuse, depression, anxiety, marital/relationship struggles, mood disorders, counseling before geriatric surgery, self-esteem issues, parenting, grief and loss, clients involved with DCS and probation, and adjusting to life’s changes. I utilize a trauma-focused approach that draws from tenets of strengths-based approaches, CBT, DBT and solution-focused techniques. I believe an important aspect of counseling is a trusting therapeutic relationship. I focus on a non-judgmental and accepting approach as I work to get to know you so that you feel confident and comfortable expressing feelings. Having a good connection with a therapist can help create the foundation for effective change and progress in the counseling experience. With a strong therapeutic relationship, we can work together as a team to work through whatever it is you are facing. You do not have to go through life’s struggles alone. Contact me today to get started!

In my practice, I often help people with understanding and managing their emotional experiences. This includes helping people to face and move on from past traumas, understand and change behaviors that are causing them problems in the present day, and learning how to tolerate the ups and downs of life.
I am a solution focused therapist with 6 years of experience working with individuals and families to help them reach their goals. I get to know my clients and incorporate meaningful activities into our therapeutic sessions to help them work through the issues that are causing them disruption in their lives. I know that life can be difficult due to many different issues. Whatever the issue is, I am happy to work with clients to help them figure out how to overcome it. My primary objective is to help clients remove barriers to personal success and take steps toward autonomy through the promotion of mental health. I am able to provide this service in both English and Spanish. In addition to being a bilingual mental health therapist, I am a seasoned educator with 13 years of classroom teaching experience. Over the years, I have gained beneficial experience that has helped form my counseling philosophy that we all have room to grow. Lao Tzu said it best when he coined the phrase, "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." We are all on a journey in this life and start at different places along the path. It doesn't matter where any one of us starts, it just matters that we take that first step and keep on going.

We offer mental health services and support using Relational Cultural Therapy. A part of growth in connection often spills into participating in social change, through creating alliances or communities that are built around relational values." –Judith V. Jordan, Relational-Cultural Therapy. Our practice is gender affirming, intersectional, anti-racist, and diverse.
I'm so glad you're here! A little about me: I’ve been working in the mental health field since earning my Masters of Science in Social Work degree with a specialization in Alcohol and Drug Counseling from the University of Louisville in 2011. Over the years, I’ve worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting adults through challenges with mental health and substance use. Those experiences have given me the privilege of walking alongside people in some of the hardest and most transformative moments of their lives. I especially enjoy working with adults navigating life transitions, whether that’s beginning college, relationship challenges, big life changes like marriage or divorce, experiencing grief or loss, changing careers, experiencing family stress, or facing other big shifts. I have a special passion for supporting people with personality disorders, anxiety, depression, stress, and substance use challenges. I also offer a safe place for LGBTQ+ individuals. My background in crisis work means I’m comfortable meeting you exactly where you are, even if life feels overwhelming right now. My style is conversational, open, and nonjudgmental. I believe therapy is a partnership. I’ll bring tools, strategies, and perspective, and you’ll bring your lived experience and goals. It takes a lot of strength and bravery to reach out for help. My approach is relationship-centered, as I believe healing and change take place when we feel connected to others. I truly admire the courage clients have in sharing their story and being vulnerable with me. Using a holistic and strengths-based approach, my hope is that clients feel connected, heard, valued, and worthy. It's an honor for me to witness a client's authentic voice, to see their dedication to making changes, and to witness them thrive. I'd love to support you. Coming alongside clients in collaboration, I believe a flexible approach that best fits the individual's needs is most effective. I have extensive experience in helping those with trauma find healing. I also work with young adults who may be feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, depressed, those coping with a life transition, or who are coping with grief and loss. I'd love to meet you and offer support.
